Exciting Times Ahead at The Cross Keys: Your Autumn and Winter Preview
It might not feel like summer ever really took off, but time waits for no one, and we’re already gearing up for a busy Autumn and Winter season at The Cross Keys!
Kicking off the season on September 13th, we’re thrilled to welcome Geminii Dragon to our stage. While we originally had Catfish booked, they had to cancel due to Matt’s ongoing illness. However, we’re genuinely excited to host Geminii Dragon, performing as a duo. After listening to many of her songs, I have to say, her voice is absolutely brilliant—reminiscent of Tina Turner with a similar energy. Her gospel roots shine through, making her a truly unique artist. If you plan on attending, please let me know ASAP so I can reserve you a seat. Let’s fill the Cross Keys and give our stateside visitors a warm Yorkshire welcome!
Looking ahead to October 5th, we have Emilia Quinn performing. This one’s on a Saturday night, so no excuses! Emilia is a rising star in the Americana scene, and as a local artist, she’s definitely one to watch. If you have friends or family who are a bit skeptical about blues music, this is the perfect opportunity to show them what they’re missing. It’s sure to be a great night.
Then, on October 18th, just a couple of weeks later, we’re spoiling you with Dust Radio. If you attended Emma Wilson’s gig last November, you might remember Paddy Wells, the leader of Dust Radio and one of the finest harmonica players in the country. This band oozes quality and if you enjoy traditional blues with a modern twist, you won’t want to miss this.
Looking further ahead to next year, we’re thrilled to announce two more exciting acts:
- March 14th brings McHale’s Permanent Brew to our stage. If you were at Beastie Fest, you’ll know how fantastic these guys are—one of Beastie’s absolute favorite bands!
- And for October 2025, we’re incredibly excited to have booked The Dirt Road Band. Led by Steve Walwyn, the former lead guitarist of Dr. Feelgood for 32 years, this band is a must-see. I’ve seen Steve perform live several times and can confidently say, if there’s a better guitarist in the country, I haven’t seen them. We’re absolutely chuffed to have them on our lineup.
Thank you all for your ongoing support. For those of you who have signed up as members but haven’t made it down to a gig yet—what are you waiting for? We’ve had some truly brilliant nights and can expect many more as we move through the rest of this year and into next. So, come on down and join the fun!
