Stretching Out

Just ahead of our public announcement on social media we just wanted to make you aware of a new collaboration that we have got involved in to expand the reach of live blues music into the suburbs of Leeds.

Leeds Blues Club member Mark who runs the Podger pub in Garforth approached us with a view to arranging a monthly live blues music event at his pub on the first Saturday of the month. Of course we were delighted to help out as we are keen to help promote live music and support grassroots music venues. Consequently we have put a programme together of bands and solo artists through the rest of this year commencing on the 1st June with ‘Hot Foot Hall.’ Those of you who went to the York Blues Festival recently will be familiar with this talented and entertaining foot stomping guitarist and singer.

The music will start at 9 p.m. but the Podger has an extensive great value food menu so you may want to make a night of it. In subsequent months you will be able to see one of our favourite bands Bloomin’ Hummerz as well as the Tigermen and others. Watch out for the announcements on the social media and via emails. All events will be free entry.

If you live anywhere near Garforth (or even if you are prepared to travel a bit) please go down and support them. As we know grassroots venues are having an increasingly challenging time so all support is welcome. Address is Podger, Ninelands Lane, Garforth, LS25 1NT
