Beastie Fest

March 23, 2024 12:00 am

Boom Byron Street Mills, Millwright St, Leeds LS2 7QG

All Leeds Blues Club members will be aware of Beastie. He was a legendary figure in the world of live music and while he had a particular passion for blues music he was also a huge fan of prog, rock and just about every other genre.  He was also a huge supporter of Leeds Blues Club. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in the summer of 2023 and with him we began to plan a tribute gig for him, inviting his favourite bands who had also become friends over the years through his passionate promotion of their work on his Beastie’s Blues Club and Beastie’s Rock Show radio programmes to come and play in Leeds as a celebration of his life. We were dearly hoping that Beastie was going to be around to enjoy it but sadly he died on Boxing Day.

His family’s wish is that Beastie Fest will go ahead to allow his many friends and family to show their respects in a way that was deserving of Beastie’s lifelong passion for live music.

The event is a daytime / evening affair commencing at 3 p.m. and will be held at a new venue for us – Boom in the Mabgate area of the city just off Regent Street.

Because of the quality of the lineup and the respect that Beastie has throughout the music industry this event is sure to be very popular so we are holding back sufficient tickets for all Leeds blues Club members until 29th February, after which they will go onto general release.

The line up consists of:

Big Wolf Band

McHales Permanent Brew

Pearl Handled Revolver

Hard Stairs

Emma Wilson

Terraplanes Blues Band

Because this is a charity event and an addition to our regular programme we are unable to offer the usual member discount for this gig.

We would love to have all Leeds Blues Club members at this event to help celebrate Beastie’s lif and enjoy a magnificent one off gig.
